MIAMI…Salsa America, hosted and produced by Andy Harlow, is being broadcast as a five-part, one-hour weekly special that will explore the roots, evolution and future of Salsa, Wednesdays at 7 PM, September 15^th through October 15, 2010.

WDNA’s own Salsero, Andy Harlow, will trace Salsa’s history…musically and geographically…from Cuba to Puerto Rico to New York’s Spanish Harlem, AND from Mambo to Cha-Cha-Cha to Charanga and beyond!

Barbara Craddock and the late Pedro “Cuban Pete” Aguilar are featured in the first show, “When Mambo Was King,” airing Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at 7 PM. Tune in to find out which band Cuban Pete thought was the hottest…Tito, Tito or Machito!

This show is perfect for Salsa lovers and is a great introduction for those new to Salsa! Each program features 40 minutes of music!
