MIAMISalsa America, hosted and produced by Andy Harlow, is being broadcast as a five-part, one-hour weekly special that will explore the roots, evolution and future of Salsa, Wednesdays at 7 PM, September 15th through October 15, 2010.

WDNA’s own Salsero, Andy Harlow, will trace Salsa’s history…musically and geographically…from Cuba to Puerto Rico to New York’s Spanish Harlem, AND from Mambo to Cha-Cha-Cha to Charanga and beyond!

Barbara Craddock and the late Pedro “Cuban Pete” Aguilar are featured in the first show, “When Mambo Was King,” airing Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at 7 PM. Tune in to find out which band Cuban Pete thought was the hottest…Tito, Tito or Machito!

This show is perfect for Salsa lovers and is a great introduction for those new to Salsa! Each program features 40 minutes of music!
